Die Übersetzung. Gibt es mehr als eine?

Guten Morgen!

Heute werde ich etwas über die verschiedenen Formen einer Übersetzung sprechen. Sie sagen jetzt vielleicht "Wie? Gibt es denn mehr als eine?" Richtig, es gibt mehr als eine, im Allgemeinen reden wir von einer Übersetzung, wenn wir einen Text in eine andere Sprache (Zielsprache) umsetzen wollen. Hierzu gibt es die folgenden Varianten:

- die wörtliche Übersetzung, diese wird zum Beispiel bei Prozessen gebraucht.

- die freie Übersetzung, diese Variante wird am meisten benutzt, da sie ein weites Feld abdeckt. Zum Beispiel Blogs, Web-Sites, Romane, etc. Bestimmte Redewendungen können nicht wörtlich übersetzt werden, weil sie ihren Sinn verlieren würden. Wenn wir zum Ausdruck bringen möchten, dass zwei Personen unzertrennlich sind, sagen wir oft "sie sind ein Herz und eine Seele". Auf Spanisch wird das frei übersetzt mit "son uña y carne" (sie sind wie (Finger) - nagel und Fleisch). Der Unterschied ist offensichtlich. Aber nicht nur bei Sprichwörtern muss man aufpassen: Wenn ich sagen will: "das macht Sinn", kann das zwar wörtlich ins Englische übersetzt werden aber nicht ins Spanische, denn hier wird das Verb "haben" (tener) und nicht "machen" (hacer) verwendet. Auf Spanisch lautet dies also "eso tiene sentido" und auf Englisch "this makes sense".

- die Simultanübersetzung, auch dolmetschen genannt, diese erfolgt in der Regel mündlich  und ohne Vorlage eines Textes, bei Interviews, Seminaren, Konferenzen etc.

Kinds of translation

Hello and good morning to you!

Today I will speak a little bit about some different kinds of translation. You may think: "What? There are more than one?" Yes. Generally, when we speak about translation we are thinking of transforming a written text into another language (target language). This kind of translation can be divided into the following parts:

- the literal translation: this is a word by word translation, for example for criminal proceedings.

- the free translation: in this case the original text will be translated into the target language, maintaining the original sense but adapting it to the appropiate linguistic form. This kind of translation is the most popular as its use is valid for a wide variety of text. For example for Blogs, web sites, novels, etc. To illustrate with an example: you like to say in Spanish that you feel inseparately with someone. Using the expression "to be as thick as thieves" won't make any sense with a literal translation ("ser tan gruesa como ladrones") but saying "ser uña y carne" that fits .

- the simultaneous translation: this form is normally used in situations like interviews, meetings or by phone. The interpreter doesn't have a text to translate but the translation occurs at the same time as the other is speaking.

La traducción, ¿La entendemos todos por igual?

¿A que parece una pregunta un poco tonta? Seguro que habéis optado por contestarla con un "sí" sin pestañear, pero siempre hay un pero...

Según el Diccionario de la Real Academia Española hay varias definiciones:

Primero está la acción y efecto de traducir, la cuál se puede distinguir en:

- traducción directa, es lo que hacemos en Traduka, la traducción de un texto en idioma extranjero al idioma del traductor, p.e. del español al alemán. 

- traducción inversa, también hacemos esta que es la traducción de un texto en idioma del traductor a un idioma extranjero, p.e. del alemán al español.

- traducción libre, nosotros la llamamos también traducción interpretada porque se trata de traducir un texto siguiendo su sentido pero adaptándolo al idioma de destino para que se lea con claridad y fluidez. Os doy un ejemplo: la expresión "ser uña y carne" que se usa mucho para describir la relación de unos amigos inseparables, en alemán más bien sería "ein Herz und eine Seele sein" (ser corazón y alma) y en inglés "to be as thick as thieves" (ser tan grueso como ladrones) o "to be like jam and bread" (ser como la mermelada para el pan). Ya podéis ver que la traducción libre o interpretada es casi más importante que la literal.

- traducción literal, que es la traducción palabra por palabra, p.e. en un juicio.

- traducción literaria, es como la traducción libre.

- traducción simultánea, se hace oralmente al mismo tiempo que se está pronunciando un discurso, conferencia, etc.

Cordero de Pascua (bizcochito)

¡Queridas lectoras y queridos lectores!

Con motivo de la Semana Santa os presento hoy una receta  de mi madre para un bizcochito típico alemán, el "Cordero de Pascua" (Osterlamm):

Ingredientes:

60 g de mantequilla (sin sal)

60 g de azúcar

1 bolsita de vainilla azucarada

1 pizca de sal

2-3 huevos (dependiendo del tamaño, que sean 60 g sin cáscara)

60 g de almendra molida

60 g de harina

60 g de harina fina tipo Maizena

1 cucharada de café de levadura en polvo

Azúcar en polvo/ azúcar glas para decorarlos al final

Elaboración:

Enciende el horno a 180º.

Prepara los moldes echándoles mantequilla y harina (o pan rallado) para poder sacar los corderitos más fácilmente después de hornear. Los moldes no deben estar lleno de harina, así que sacudelos hasta que  solo quede un fina capa de harina (o de pan rallado).

Empieza batiendo la mantequilla hasta que quede espumosa, añade el azúcar y sigue batiendo hasta que el azúcar esté disuelto, añade los huevos enteros con la pizca de sal y sigue batiendo la masa durante unos 5 minutos más y con máxima velocidad. Añade ahora la almendra molida y cuando esté todo bien mezclado, añade la harina a través de un colador fino para evitar que se hagan grumos. Una vez que tengas toda la harina echada, mezcla todo durante muy poco tiempo, porque si nos pasamos mezclando, la masa te quedará como un chicle y no subirá.

Mete la masa en los moldes hasta que quede algo más de la mitad cubierta y mételos en el horno durante unos 30-40 minutos. Si ves que empiezan a quemarse por arriba, pon papel de aluminio encima. Para saber si están hechos, pínchalos con un palito de madera (de estos para pinchitos). Si al sacar el palo no queda ninguna masa pegada, sabrás que están listos.

Déjalos enfriar un par de minutos antes de sacarlos del molde, y luego déjalos enfriarse sobre una rejilla. Una vez frío, échale tanto azúcar glas hasta que queden blanquitos. Y quien tenga una pequeña campanita con un lazito rojo se lo puede poner por el cuello como detallito. ¡Al cordero claro!
